Corporate life was something I excelled at, but it was only ever a means. I learned (and earned) a lot and built a strong network of friends and business partners, but there was always a future where I controlled my time and could create on my own terms.
I’ve never liked the idea of working for someone (does anyone?) – having my future at the whim of others. So, in my early 30s, I began designing a life I could retire to, instead of from.
Finance and wealth building became my new study and over the years I devoured books, seminars, and the wisdom of the most successful investors. I went a step further and began working in the Finance industry (and still do) to better educate myself and play in a space that consumes my curiosity.
This took me from a credit card lackey living week to week to accumulating a healthy retirement fund and an investment portfolio that will enable me to reach financial independence in my 40’s – and have fun doing it.
As much as I like the F.I.R.E movement (Financial Independence Retire Early) I have never wanted to quit working, just to quit working for other people. With financial independence, I’m able to start working on my own projects, with people I like and building generational wealth. So, I now define F.I.R.E as Financial Independence Recreational Employment.
This website chronicles my journey, lessons, tips, and tools that I’ve used and continue to use to this day to build a wealthy life.
I hope you can get some value from it,
Clinton.
